My Art

I am blogging this because I did an awesome job on it and it is my absolute personal best! We are learning about visual arts and we had to make our own type of visual art!

This piece of art relstes to me because it is music. I am absoloutly obsessed with music and I want to play the guitar.

Art Plan.
Name: Malena
Later in the term, the whole school is taking part in a visual arts exhibition. You will have to make your own piece of visual art.

You will need:
  • Sketching Pencils
  • A4 paper
  • Coloured Felt Tips- Orange, Pink, Red, Yellow
  • Ruler
  • Something circular to trace around/round stencil. And a slightly smaller one.
  • This is what my art will look like:

Write a list of steps to take.

  1. Collect your equipment, felt tips, A4 paper, and sketching pencils
  2. Find a suitable drawing surface (a table) and set up your stuff.
  3. Start by drawing the outline of the bridge. You may want to use your ruler. Now sketch the small circles in the middle of the bridge. There should be 6. Complete the bridge by shading it in as shown in the picture.
  4. Draw the outline of the body. As you may notice, the whole of the body isn’t on the page. It finishes just under the bridge. Take a look at the picture for extra help.
  5. Take your round stencil and draw the outline of the sound hole. Don’t worry about the design and drawing the smaller circle. At some point you will need to rub out part of the circle for the neck to fit in.
  6. Now you need to draw the neck. Notice it doesn’t actually finish. It stops a little way from the top of your page. You may need to use your ruler again to draw the sides. Draw the bottom of the neck a little way inside the circle.  Now rub out  the part of the circle that is inside the neck.
  7. Time to draw the frets. You don’t have to use a ruler for these as you want a ‘not quite perfect’ effect. Make them quite dark . Now draw the position markers.
  8. Strings. Use your ruler for them. Match each one to a little circle that you did on the bridge. And finish them unevenly, as shown in the picture.
  9. Now back to the circle. Get your smaller template and draw a darker circle inside your bigger circle. Sketch the pattern that is shown on the sound hole in dark pencil.
  10. Take your felt tip pens and colour your tiny music notes coming out of the sound hole and the neck.
  11. Time for the hard part! Shading. I think it would be best if you just looked at the picture for this instruction. Use your sketching pencils to shade in the background, and guitar. Now hang your masterpiece up on your wall!
